The Vehicle Research Institute at Western Washington University certainly had one of the sexier vehicles at the Clean Vehicles Now conference. 

And its powered by “bovine waste”.  Actually it is CNG/electric hybrid, with the CNG coming from biomethane which comes from cows.

Who knows when, if ever, we will see cow powered cars on the road.  I can’t speak to the technology.  But what I can say is that the apparent luxuriousness of the car was refreshing amid the other squat, boxy vehicles.   I think that it is important that green and SR businesses don’t forget that people want to have fun as well as do the right thing.  Particularly if they want to reach the mainstream — which is where they need to be (en masse) to have a impact.
