Hi. Thanks for stopping by my blog.  From an early age I was an environmentalist.  I even went so far as to get a degree in environmental studies from the University of Vermont.  After graduation I promptly did nothing with that degree.  Oh, I tried.  I tried to start a company that sold recycled office supplies.  I even thought about a bison ranch.  Not that I really knew anything about those two things.  But I was impatient.  I was looking for a way to make a big difference quickly.

So, what did I end up doing?  I went to business school.  Contradictory?  When I was an undergraduate I went about thinking about the environment as if business and environmental protection where antithetical.   But like a good education should do, I left UVM able to think more deeply about problems.  Over the next few years I realized that business and the environment were not at odds.  Not if we really want to sustain human life on planet Earth (a future topic).

This blog is an opportunity to explore what are commonly referred to as “green” and “socially responsible” business.  I include SR business because the social environment is as important a piece of sustaining human life on this planet as is clean water, clean air or any of the other topics typically considered environmental.

Your thoughts are always welcome and encouraged.
